Setting up a market stall – Part 1

I had set up a market stall for the first time. It was a lovely experience.

A few tips to start with:

  1. Research the market stall that you want to participate in, before committing any payment. Despite knowing this, my first ever market was something that was being held for the first time. The organisers did a reasonable pitch, the location looked quite impressive and the venue was central and pretty magnificent.
  2. Sounds obvious, you product should be relevant to the target audience.
  3. If you are doing for the first time, it would be useful to prepare a bit in advance. You might need a few things like a banner, a table cloth, display stands (depending on your product), leaflets, business cards etc. Make sure they are ready/ bought in time for the market day.
  4. Practise setting up the table at home, do the changes if required and then take a picture in your phone. So on the day of the market, you can refer to the photo to get the right arrangement.
